This project plans to develop a generic energy system modelling tool for hydrogen-based micro-grids. This tool would allow users to easily implement a variety of input parameters and obtain recommendations for capacities of the components of a micro-grid. Using the model the MOD will be able to investigate additional locations for small scale hydrogen production. The application of the model to various potential locations in the GW-SHIFT region will allow optimum decision making on the ratios of capacities between energy sources and electrolyser capabilities as well as fuel cell capacities in some cases, and thereby ensuring close matching of hydrogen production to demand.
